11 Jul Sharing Transformation
in my Professional Community
A couple of days ago, I was contacted by my professional society, the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT), with a request to write a review of any business resources I had used in my teaching practice. I immediately recognized an opportunity to share Transformation!
Serendipitously, Tracy asked a question on the next day’s Being Here radio show that prompted Ariel and Shya to suggest ways to meaningfully talk about our Transformation experience. I took their pointers to heart and sat down at my computer to write the following review, which will be published on the AmSAT website. It contains some language I chose specifically to resonate with the Alexander community.
1. What is your resource? (Categories: Business Coaches/Mentors,
Business Courses/Workshops)

2. Describe your experience with your resource.
The Kanes’ work is a perfect fit with the Alexander Technique, as it emphasizes living in the moment and allowing life to unfold. The Kanes start with the concept of accessing the present moment by listening non-judgmentally, which is a form of the Awareness we AT teachers promote. The Kanes’ 3 principles of Instantaneous Transformation are easy to understand and to apply to whatever life presents.
Since working with the Kanes, I have discovered a new way of being that is light, happy, energetic, and amazingly productive. I did not at first realize that my teaching would transform so radically along with my personal life. But I am finding that I now connect deeply with my students and know intuitively how to structure their lessons effectively. I have stopped giving energy to my negative self-talk and mental chatter and find that my teaching unfolds brilliantly and easefully. My teaching practice and my concept of my potential have grown immeasurably…and there are no apparent bounds to my further development. I am astounded daily at how good my life—including my teaching—can be when I say YES to it.
A further benefit of the Kanes’ program is that I have become part of a community of talented, generous, and warm-hearted people, including many I have consulted in my AT practice: a logo designer, a writing coach, a videographer, a photographer, a social media consultant, website designers, etc. All these professionals approach their work with dedication, consciousness, and a sense of fun.
3. Would you recommend this resource to a friend?
Yes—experiencing Transformation through the Kanes is without a doubt the most life-affirming, practice-invigorating, fun-inspiring business tool I’ve ever encountered. I invite any of my AT colleagues to join me for an upcoming event—just contact me via my website if you want to attend an evening or weekend seminar along with me. I participate in almost all of them.
The Kanes offer a whole range of possible ways to benefit from their coaching, at costs from free on up. You could start with their weekly online radio show or one of their useful and enjoyable books. If you live in the NYC area, come to a Monday Night Alive! seminar for $20. If you don’t live in the NYC area, it’s worth making the effort to get there for one of the Kanes’ monthly weekend seminars—whatever the theme, you will find applications to your business, your teaching, your relationships, and every other aspect of your life. People in many fields travel from Europe, Australia, the Far East, and all over North America to participate in these invaluable, life-transforming events.
