Our Cat is Not a Dog

Our Cat is Not a Dog

We were with some friends recently when Nuka, their dog, watched as a daddy long legs spider crossed his path. Nuka simply looked at the spider with mild curiosity until it crawled upon his paw. Then he snapped at it, but the movement was largely exploratory.

With our cat, Baby, any bug movement is cause for instant alert: a cave cricket’s unpredictable leaps elicit a frantic series of moves, a house fly or moth an aerial display.

Fortunately, Baby has learned that stink bugs, which have made her very sick in the past, are inedible – play but don’t eat.
