When I entered the room, Ariel was standing there cradling Baby. It had been a while since Baby had let us cuddle her that way. Stepping forward, Ariel poured our cat into my arms, a boneless furry puddle. Paws tilted skyward, eyes closed in delight, Baby rested in my embrace quietly purring.
Eventually Baby was ready to go on her way. But not before I whispered in her ear, “Let’s do this again sometime soon.”
