Using Zoom for Living Made Easy: Virtual Seminars

Zoom is a video conferencing tool that allows people from all over the world to connect and it is the tool we use for our Living Made Easy: Virtual Seminars. You can use Zoom from your smartphone, tablet or computer. To use this tool, all you need is an internet connection, video (webcam) and audio (speakers + microphone) connections. You do NOT need to join Zoom or have an account with Zoom in order to participate.

HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS VIRTUAL SEMINAR:
  • Use video, as well as audio.
We often talk about the importance of using your ears, as well as your eyes, to listen. Seeing others in the virtual seminar and allowing others to see you will support your ability to listen, engage with those in the seminar and limit distractions in your environment.
  • Limit distractions.
    1. Please turn off or silence notifications, texts and calls on your phone; do not read/answer texts or emails during the seminar; refrain from taking notes.
    2. Position yourself so you are close to the camera so your image fills the screen.
    3. Adjust lighting so that your face is illuminated and not backlit (don’t position yourself in front of a window or light source).
