Using Zoom for International Video Seminars

Zoom is a video conferencing tool that allows people from all over the world to connect and it is the tool we use for our International Video Seminars. You can use Zoom from your smartphone, tablet or computer. To use this tool, all you need is an internet connection, video (webcam) and audio (speakers + microphone) connections.

HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS VIDEO SEMINAR:

  • Use video, as well as audio.
    We often talk about the importance of using your ears, as well as your eyes, to listen. Seeing others in the video seminar and allowing others to see you will support your ability to listen, engage with those in the seminar and limit distractions in your environment.
  • Limit distractions.
    For the time we are in the video seminar together, please turn off or silence your phones (unless you’re using your phone to join in), leave texts, emails and phone calls until after our time together. There’s also no need to take notes during the seminar.
  • Read instructions below to confirm you are ready to participate.
    Below are instructions for using the Zoom tool to participate in this event (you do NOT need to join Zoom or have an account with Zoom in order to participate). Please review them and do any testing prior to the video seminar to ensure that you can connect successfully.

  • After you register, you will receive the video seminar information via email or calendar invite. (If you do not have the info, email world@ask-inc.com to request it.)
  • Each meeting has a unique 9, 10, or 11-digit number called a meeting ID that will be required to join a Zoom meeting.
  • If you are joining via telephone, use the teleconferencing number provided in the invite or select the number from this list according to your country.
  • You can join the video seminar using the meeting ID. See more information.
